Literary Tourism Topic Explored On-site at the Ömer Seyfettin Memorial House

As part of the Thermal Tourism and Tourism Product Diversification course offered in our program, a technical visit to the Ömer Seyfettin Memorial House was organized on 1 April 2026 by Assistant Professor Cansen CAN for our first-year students.

During the technical visit, the course topic Literary Tourism was taught on-site to reinforce students' theoretical knowledge through practical learning. Throughout the visit, students were introduced to the life and literary works of Ömer Seyfettin, one of the prominent figures of Turkish literature, as well as his significance to the cultural identity of Gönen. In addition, discussions focused on the tourism value of literary heritage and the attractiveness of literature-based destinations.

The technical visit provided students with the opportunity to examine elements of cultural heritage within the context of literary tourism, enabling them to strengthen the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom through field experience while increasing their awareness of cultural heritage tourism and literary tourism.
