Volunteer Activities at the Community Iftar Tent Continued During the Final Week

Students of the Business Administration Program at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Gönen Vocational School continued their volunteer activities throughout the final week of Ramadan as part of the Volunteering Studies course. Coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Şahin, the initiative demonstrated a strong commitment to continuity, responsibility, and community engagement.

As part of the final week’s activities, students continued to support the public iftar programs organized by the Gönen Municipality. They actively participated in meal distribution, event coordination, and cleaning operations, contributing to the smooth execution of the events. The experiences gained during these activities helped students strengthen their teamwork, task-sharing, coordination, and problem-solving skills in a real-world setting.

Throughout the final week, students maintained a strong sense of social responsibility and volunteerism, particularly through their supportive interactions with elderly individuals and members of the community in need. In this respect, the activities extended beyond a short-term initiative and contributed to fostering a sustainable culture of civic engagement and social responsibility.

The volunteer activities carried out during the month of Ramadan are considered to have made significant contributions to both the personal and professional development of the students. Furthermore, the program stands out as a successful example of effective collaboration between the university and local stakeholders, producing tangible benefits for the wider community.
