As part of the 2026-2027 Academic Year at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Gönen Vocational School, an orientation and academic adaptation program was held for students of the Graphic Design Program within the Department of Design.
Aiming to facilitate students' rapid adaptation to university culture and their field of study, the program provided general information alongside detailed presentations on the academic structure and applied education model of the Graphic Design Program. In this context, students were informed about the use of the ÜBYS Student Information System, the BANU Mobile Application, campus facilities, course selection, attendance tracking, and the Smoke-Free Campus Policy.
Details Provided on the 3+1 Workplace Practice and Course Operations
One of the prominent educational models of the Graphic Design Program, the 3+1 Workplace Practice and internship program, formed a primary agenda item of the meeting. The operation of the 3+1 system—which combines theoretical knowledge with industry experience—along with internship procedures and course delivery principles, was explained in depth.
Academic Advising and Quality Assurance Efforts
To closely monitor students' academic progress, student-faculty consultation hours and advising mechanisms were introduced. Students were guided on how to communicate with faculty members regarding academic or administrative matters during their education and how to ease their transition process.
Furthermore, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University’s 5-year YÖKAK (Higher Education Quality Council) Accreditationand quality assurance processes were discussed. The importance of student feedback and suggestions for maintaining quality standards and directly enhancing educational processes was emphasized.
Following the presentations, students' questions regarding 3+1 internship quotas, website announcements, course exemptions, and general student procedures were answered. The program concluded with best wishes to all students for a successful academic year.
