A discussion on Advertising Production and Management was held.

An online discussion on "Advertising Production and Management," organized by the Graphic Design Program of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Gönen Vocational School, was held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM with high participation. The event, moderated by Dr. Yasin Avcı, a faculty member of the Graphic Design Program, featured Lecturer and Advertising Director Abdullah Bozkurt as the guest speaker.

In the discussion, Abdullah Bozkurt provided comprehensive assessments of the dynamic structure of the advertising industry, emphasizing that advertising cannot be considered solely as an artistic form of expression produced with aesthetic concerns, but rather as a strategic communication tool. He highlighted the necessity of considering creative thinking, target audience analysis, brand positioning, and media planning together in the advertising production process, stating that this process requires an interdisciplinary perspective.

In his speech, Bozkurt also touched upon the conceptual and functional differences between design and advertising, noting that graphic design is a production area more focused on aesthetics and visual communication; Bozkurt stated that advertising has a strategic structure aimed at producing measurable results in line with a specific goal. In this context, he emphasized that design is an important tool in advertising processes, but it is not sufficient on its own; effective advertising can only achieve success when integrated with the right strategy.

The discussion also addressed current problems faced by advertisers. Transformations in the sector, the impact of digitalization, changes in target audience behavior, and the global competitive environment were discussed comparatively through national and international examples. The impact of cultural, economic, and communication differences encountered in different markets on advertising strategies was a significant topic of discussion for the participants.

During the event, Bozkurt also provided assessments on the use of artificial intelligence in design processes, stating that AI is used as an important supporting tool in areas such as idea generation, visual production, and content diversification. However, he noted that AI-powered video content has not yet fully achieved the desired impact in advertising production, often leaving an artificial impression and struggling to establish an emotional connection with the viewer. At this point, it was emphasized that the human factor is an indispensable element, especially in terms of narrative construction, emotional transmission, and connecting with the audience.

The interview detailed the holistic structure of the advertising production process, from the idea stage to production and management, and also provided information about the working dynamics and professional workflows of creative teams. Participants had the opportunity to gain valuable information about the current structure of the sector and career planning, supported by direct experience sharing.

Organized by the Gönen Vocational School Graphic Design Program, the interview contributed to students' ability to connect their theoretical knowledge with industry practice, significantly supporting the development of their professional awareness. The event concluded after the participants' questions were answered.
