The book titled "Transformation in Modern Graphic Design" has been published.
This work, which examines the relationship between the historical development of the graphic design discipline and its current production practices from a multifaceted perspective, is a significant academic study that brings together the theoretical and applied dimensions of the field. The book offers a broad range of content, from traditional visual culture to digital design processes, from the concept of typographic layout to AI-supported production models. Edited by Dr. Yasin Avcı, the study, with contributions from faculty members of the Graphic Design Program as well as various academics, addresses the transforming structure of graphic design from an interdisciplinary perspective. In the book, Yasin Avcı's chapter titled "Redefinition of the Hierarchical Structure in Poster Design" examines the contemporary transformation of the hierarchical structure in poster design, while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Akman's study titled "The Impact of Digitalization on Graphic Design Practices in the Context of Generative Artificial Intelligence" investigates the impact of digitalization and generative artificial intelligence on design processes. In his chapter titled “The Transformation of Graphic Design in Cigarette Packaging: From Appeal-Oriented Aesthetics to Ethics-Based Deterrence,” Gökhan Koç evaluates the transformation in packaging design; while Lecturer Leman Üstündağ, in her work titled “The Transformation of Graphic Design Portfolios in the Digital Age,” addresses the changes in portfolio presentations during the digitalization process.
