Information and Awareness Seminar for Gönen Vocational School Students by the Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of Security

An informative seminar was held for the students of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, Gönen Vocational School, Tourism and Hotel Management Program, conducted by the Balıkesir Provincial Police Department, Counterterrorism Branch, Information and Prevention Activities (BÖF) Unit.

The session took place in the computer laboratory during the “Hotel Management Automation Systems” course taught by Lecturer Dr. Cansen Can. The aim of the seminar was to raise students’ awareness on issues such as protection from harmful activities of terrorist organizations, safe and responsible use of social media, and strengthening national unity and solidarity awareness.

During the presentation delivered by the BÖF team, students were informed about the risks young people may encounter on digital platforms, the propaganda methods used by terrorist organizations, and individual precautions that can be taken against such threats.

At the end of the training, students had the opportunity to ask questions and enhance their understanding of security awareness, social consciousness, and civic responsibility.
