Visit to YEMTAR: Collaborative Meeting Held for the Development of the Welding Technology Program Curriculum
Bandırma OSB Vocational School of Technical Sciences continues to strengthen its engagement with the industry in line with its university–industry collaboration-oriented educational approach. In this context, a delegation consisting of our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin ERÇAKAR, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. Abdullah YEŞİL, Technopark Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Harun ÖZBAY, and Director of Bandırma OSB Vocational School of Technical Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adem DALCALI visited Yemtar Mak. San. Tic. A.Ş. to hold a comprehensive meeting regarding curriculum and course plan development for the planned Welding Technology Program.
During the visit, the School’s 3+1 applied education model, industry-integrated training approach, and its mission to train qualified technical personnel for regional industries were presented. YEMTAR’s expectations regarding welding technologies used in its production processes, quality standards, and employee competency requirements were evaluated, and mutual discussions were held to shape the program’s course content and application-oriented modules.
The meeting highlighted several key topics, including the practical skills required by the sector, certification requirements, welding methods, occupational health and safety, welding automation, and quality control processes. YEMTAR’s potential contributions to the curriculum and opportunities for practical training were also discussed in detail.
This collaboration was emphasized as being highly significant for aligning the program with current industry needs and enhancing the employment opportunities of our students after graduation. It is believed that the collaborative foundation established between our School and YEMTAR will make a strong contribution to our goal of providing highly qualified human resources to the regional industry.
As Bandırma OSB Vocational School of Technical Sciences, we will continue to shape our educational processes with the insights and experience of industry representatives and further develop our industry-integrated education model.
