BULLSEYE / Applications are now open for the International Juried “Traditional Turkish Archery” Art Exhibition!

The International Juried "Traditional Turkish Archery" Art Exhibition "PERFECT HIT," organized by the Archers Foundation, has begun accepting submissions. Our faculty members from the Graphic Design Program at Gönen Vocational School, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Akman, Dr. Yasin Avcı, and Lecturer Gökhan Koç, are among the 15 art jury members selected from various countries.

The Archers Foundation was established to preserve, thoroughly research, and pass on the living heritage of traditional Turkish archery to future generations. It is a cultural institution that views this deeply rooted tradition not merely as a sport or technical skill, but as a philosophy of life and the silent language of civilization. Traditional Turkish archery, which forms the backbone of the Foundation, has transcended mere physical training discipline over the centuries; it has gained meaning as one of the rare existential experiences where body, mind, and spirit unite at a single point, and where one confronts their own essence. At that founding moment when the arrow leaves the bow, time stops, thought falls silent, and only a purified intention remains. This moment, one of the simplest and deepest secrets entrusted to human hands by the ancient wisdom of the East, is reborn through the language of art with the exhibition "Pink Shot".

Exhibition Theme and Conceptual Framework: "PINK SHOT" is far beyond simply achieving a physical goal; it is the artistic manifestation of that profound and unwavering quest that humanity undertakes within its own inner depths. Within this theme, artists are expected to transform the absolute stability in the tension of the bow, the noble patience awaiting the arrow's trajectory, and ultimately the flawless embrace of the arrow with its target into visual metaphors. The moment of "Pink Shot" is an aesthetic celebration of peace born from tension, mental focus, and the achievement of all existential goals within life. We invite participants to transcend the concrete limitations of the bow and arrow, to reinterpret the abstract depths of balance, focus, and that moment of absolute strike that stops time and space, through the universal languages of art, and to embark on a quest for horizons that challenge the boundaries of the mind.
