Inter-Campus Interaction: Leadership and Creativity Event Held
As part of the “Inter-Campus Interaction: Leadership and Creativity” event hosted by the Computer Technologies Department of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Gönen Vocational School, students from the Computer-Aided Design and Animation Program at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences Kaynarca Seyfettin Selim Vocational School were welcomed to Gönen Vocational School, accompanied by the Head of the Computer Technologies Department, Dr. Ali GÜNDÜZ, and Lecturer Entes KOZALLIK. The event began with classroom and workshop tours aimed at increasing interaction among students. Project work conducted within the scope of the courses was introduced to the students by the relevant department faculty members, and information was shared regarding academic production processes. Following this, in a leadership session, Dr. Ali GÜNDÜZ gave a seminar titled “Become the Leader of Your Own Life.” In the presentation, which attracted significant student interest, the concept of leadership was discussed from a holistic perspective, focusing on values such as patriotism, entrepreneurship, quality of work, honesty, and respect, enabling individuals to discover their potential and direct their lives. In the final part of the seminar, Berru Nur Köroğlu, a student in the Computer-Aided Design and Animation Program at SUBÜ KSSMYO, shared the perspectives she gained from the program and her experiences in the field of leadership. The event was held in an interactive environment; students actively participated in the process with their questions and opinions. Bringing together students from different campuses, the program strengthened social interaction as well as academic sharing, allowing participants to gain new perspectives. At the end of the program, Dr. Ali Gündüz was thanked for his contributions and presented with a plaque and certificate of appreciation. In the art-focused section of the event, artist and cultural worker Eda Emirdağ met with the students. In her presentation titled "Local Dialogues," Emirdağ provided information about the work of Montag Residency, which she co-founded, and shared examples of projects that bring together local cultural heritage and contemporary art production. She also shared her experiences in the field of independent art and her international collaborations with the students. Following the presentation, in the “The Necessity of Art – Collage Workshop,” students experienced a creative and critical thinking-based production process. In this workshop, where exhibition catalogs compiled from the contemporary art scene in Turkey were reused, participants reinterpreted existing images to create collaborative visual narratives; they had the opportunity to experience art's ability to open up discussions on social issues and bring together different perspectives. The works produced during the workshop fostered fruitful discussions and exchanges of ideas among the participants. The resulting 6-meter-long collaborative artwork was exhibited in the corridor of Gönen Vocational School, serving as a tangible, lasting reflection of the production process. This workshop, where students from different universities collaborated, demonstrated the unifying power of art while also significantly contributing to the development of inter-campus cooperation and interaction. At the end of the program, artist Eda Emirdağ was thanked for her contributions and presented with a plaque.
