Tree Planting Festival at Our School: A Togetherness Flourishing Through Volunteerism

A tree planting festival was organized at Gönen Vocational School, spearheaded by students of the Management and Organization Department's Business Administration Program. The event, held as part of the Volunteer Studies course, was coordinated by the course instructor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Şahin.

In collaboration with the Gönen Forestry Directorate, students stepped outside the classroom and got their hands dirty. Participating in the tree planting process gave students the opportunity to experience their theoretical knowledge in the field. The activity, which took place on the Gönen Vocational School campus, was a day that emphasized the value of contact with nature and collaborative production.

The participation of students from various programs, as well as administrative staff and management, was a strong reflection of the university's ability to come together around shared values. For participants, this experience offered both an opportunity to contribute to the environment and to experience a sense of social responsibility together.

At the end of the day, each sapling planted symbolized not only a contribution to nature but also the meaning of shared effort and volunteerism. In this respect, the event served as a heartfelt gathering reminding us that even a small step can create a collective impact.
